Some families are just incredibly special to photograph, and this is one of those families for me.
I have loved getting to document their journey, and this session felt especially meaningful as they prepare to welcome their baby girl.
This is such a beautiful season of life. Not just the anticipation of a new baby, but the fullness of a family that is already so loved and connected.
We spent time focusing on their toddler first, who brought so much personality into the session. There was energy, curiosity, and honesty in every moment. This age is always one of my favorites because nothing feels posed or predictable. He is his own personality and it shines through in his facial expressions and body language :)
Then we shifted into maternity portraits with mom. There is something really tender about this stage, especially when there is already a little one in the family. You can feel the mix of excitement, patience, and love for what is coming next.
One of my favorite parts of this session was watching their toddler interact with mom’s baby bump. Those small moments, gentle touches, curious hands, and sweet expressions, are always some of the most meaningful to photograph. They are simple, but they say so much.
Mom carried such a calm and beautiful presence throughout the session. There is a quiet strength in this season of waiting, especially when you are also holding onto a busy toddler at the same time.
These sessions always remind me that maternity photography is not just about documenting a bump. It is about capturing a story that already exists, and the beautiful changes that are just about to unfold.
